And secondly, we’re passionate about architecture and design. Our passion for architecture is intrinsically linked to our passion for our clients. In other words, we don’t set out to design iconic, ‘look at me’ buildings that celebrate our brilliance – unless that’s what you want, of course.

Rather, our team delivers intelligent and transformative designs that are all about responding creatively and methodically to your needs. We take a contextual approach, in that we always strive to design the right building or fitout for your location, environment, strategic direction or brand.

A bit more about GWA

GWA was established in 2003 by Ross Gardner and Toby Wetherill, who both bring extensive, differing experience and skills to our practice. Ross and Toby take a very hands-on approach to every project – remaining heavily involved to ensure that their lateral thinking, problem solving, creativity and commercial nous are applied at all stages.

Our staff all share the founders’ passion for helping clients realise their aspirations for the built environment, while solving their unique architectural problems at the same time.

GWA has high level expertise, technology, systems and resources on hand – as you would expect from a major practice. What sets us apart is our responsiveness, and the fact that the outcomes we deliver at each phase of the project always meet our clients’ expectations. The GWA team delivers great results, no excuses.

We work across a range of building types, and deliver transformative solutions whether it be a new build, refurbishment or interiors project. We also provide master planning and consultancy services where our advocacy, expert opinion and strategic advice deliver favourable long lasting outcomes.

GWA has a distinctive competence in the education sector for our work for private school and university clients. We also work for many clients in the retail, commercial, residential and civic sectors, where our focus is on delivering commercial success.
