Tweed Heads Police Station

The Journey

The three-storey station designed for the Tweed Byron Local Area Command, was the second of the ‘new generation’ stations to be constructed for NSW Police. Planning for the staff operational areas was based around a large central landscaped courtyard that introduces northern natural light and distant views to the Gold Coast, to the interior of the building.

A key element incorporated into the design of the station is the large indigenous mural along the street façade, by local artist Christine Slabb.
