The UNSW Confucius Institute promotes educational, artistic and business links with China. Whilst small in scale, this is was a high-end workplace fit-out with a high profile. We succeeded in delivering the project from concept to tender within a four week period.
The space is designed to maximise visibility to the external corridor by blurring the boundaries between public and private areas. The design is intended to be thoughtful for visitors, implementing a contemporary palette evocative of the department’s links to China without being too literal.
The facilities have been carefully planned to maximise visual connectivity between the hierarchy of spaces. Display windows were designed and installed to enable the Institute to securely display their collection of cultural artefacts along the public corridor.
