Lifeblood Plasma Centre Townsville

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] The Journey [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] We worked closely with the client in the initial stages of this project as they developed their process for the plasma-only centre. This fed into an iterative creative process resulting in an interior that responded to the primary needs of inviting, non-clinical space and an expedited donation process.   As part of the drive to move away from generic clinical environments, new materials were investigated along with creative applications of standard donor centre materials. The Centre incorporated new features such as an aquarium, personal entertainment systems, mobile joinery units for donation equipment and consumables along with the first ever 100% digital donor record system. UNSW Confucius Institute

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] The Journey [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] The UNSW Confucius Institute promotes educational, artistic and business links with China. Whilst small in scale, this is was a high-end workplace fit-out with a high profile. We succeeded in delivering the project from concept to tender within a four week period.   The space is designed to maximise visibility to the external corridor by blurring the boundaries between public and private areas. The design is intended to be thoughtful for visitors, implementing a contemporary palette evocative of the department’s links to China without being too literal.   The facilities have been carefully planned to maximise visual connectivity between the hierarchy of spaces. Display windows were designed and installed to enable the Institute to securely display their collection of cultural artefacts along the public corridor. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]...

Only About Children Childcare

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] The Journey [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] Our challenge was to convert the late Federation Romanesque style, St Peter’s Catholic School building and associated 1970’s building located in the heart of the Little Riley Heritage Conservation Area, into a series of contemporary child care environments.   The old school building’s heritage significance was maintained and we took an adaptive-reuse approach to the spaces within. Naturally, the 1970’s component lent itself to more modern interventions.   Surrounded by mature trees, the outdoor play space is both a haven from the surrounding urban environment and a safe, nurturing place for inquiry based learning. UTS Building 5 DAB

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] The Journey [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] The refurbishment of CB05 Levels 2 and 3 for the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building offers a welcoming, collaborative and innovative learning environment.   On Level 2 a flexible ‘Pod Classroom’ with an integrated AV/IT solution supports an array of teaching and learning modes. There are numerous break out areas to support student-led learning and quiet study. Colourful study pods of various shapes encourage creativity.   Level 3 consists of academic offices and Higher Degree Research student areas. The open plan nature encourages approachability, interaction and collaboration. The daylight-rich environment, natural timbers and ‘pops’ of colour create a fun and friendly workspace. UNSW The Astrophysics Work Environment

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] The Journey [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] The aim of the project was to transform the existing work environment from dark and warren-like, to a bright and contemporary place to learn, collaborate and study.   The UNSW Astrophysics academic work environment is located within the 1950’s brick building – the ‘Old Main Building’, UNSW’s first permanent building on the Kensington campus.   The new work and study environments foster a more direct interface between the different users and as a result the isolation and passivity of traditional work environments is a thing of the past. Active engagement and participation is now embedded in workplace culture and is further enhanced by ubiquitous technology. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]...
